Data Governance Product Manager Vice President

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a product strategy and vision that modernizes data governance and improves metadata standards.
• Lead discovery efforts and user research to translate customer pain points into seamless, user-centric experiences.
• Own and maintain the product backlog, defining requirements through PRDs, epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with engineering and design teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant capabilities end-to-end.
• Track key success metrics including cost, feature functionality, risk posture, and reliability.
• Drive product adoption across a matrixed organization through effective communication, demos, and training.
• Ensure all solutions meet strict governance and control expectations, including policy alignment and auditability.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product management or a relevant domain area.
• 5+ years of experience delivering technology products within an Agile environment.
• Proven expertise in managing data governance solutions for metadata enrichment and policy workflows.
• Hands-on experience with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or AWS.
• Strong proficiency in data analysis using SQL and Excel to drive decision-making.
• Demonstrated ability to lead structured user research, including interviews, workshops, and process mapping.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop executive-ready narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in highly regulated environments, such as financial services.
• Familiarity with industry-standard data governance/management tools or CDMP certification.
• Experience supporting AI readiness through scalable metadata governance and simplified access workflows.
• Advanced degree such as an MBA or equivalent professional experience in computer science or data analytics.
