Data Governance Product Manager Vice President

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a product strategy and vision that modernizes data governance and improves metadata standards.
• Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle, including discovery, requirements definition (PRDs, epics, user stories), and roadmap prioritization.
• Own and maintain the product backlog to support strategic value propositions and AI-readiness.
• Partner with engineering and design teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and compliant data solutions.
• Engage stakeholders and users to translate pain points into seamless, user-centric workflows and measurable outcomes.
• Track key success metrics such as feature functionality, risk posture, and reduction in data access friction.
• Promote product value through demos, training, and communication to drive adoption across a matrixed organization.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in product management or a relevant domain area.
• 5+ years of experience delivering technology products within an Agile environment.
• Proven expertise in managing data governance solutions, specifically regarding metadata governance and enrichment.
• Experience supporting AI readiness through scalable metadata and simplified access workflows.
• Technical proficiency with platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and AWS.
• Strong analytical skills using SQL or Excel to drive data-driven decision-making and measure KPIs/OKRs.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop executive-ready narratives and manage complex stakeholder expectations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in highly regulated environments, such as financial services.
• Familiarity with industry-standard data governance/management tools or CDMP certification.
• Experience working closely with data owners, stewards, and risk/control stakeholders.
• Advanced degree such as an MBA or relevant experience in computer science or data analytics.
