Data Governance Expert

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of Scopely’s data governance strategy for the global data warehouse
• Work with Security, Privacy, Legal, and Compliance to translate requirements into actionable policies
• Define and implement governance frameworks including data classification, PII handling, and access control
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure governance policies are implemented in data platforms
• Contribute to access governance processes, documentation, and decision logs
• Identify and mitigate risks related to data usage
• Support governance needs for new projects, tools, and emerging areas like AI usage
• Define data ownership and accountability across datasets

Requirements

• 4 to 7 years of experience in data governance, data management, privacy, or compliance
• Strong understanding of data security and privacy concepts (PII, access control, auditability)
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Experience working with data teams to implement policies in real systems
• Ability to translate complex requirements into practical technical solutions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Full on-site presence in the Barcelona office (5 days per week)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern data platforms such as BigQuery or Snowflake
• Familiarity with IAM concepts and BI tools
• Exposure to regulated environments or sensitive data domains
• Experience working in multi-team or global organizations
