Data Engineering Team Lead

Responsibilities

• Lead a data engineering team, owning their delivery, growth, and operating standards.
• Drive delivery velocity by tracking cycle time, automation coverage, and governance incident reduction.
• Build and manage high-performance data pipelines supporting trading, compliance, and AI/ML workloads.
• Implement data governance as an engineering practice, including quality frameworks, lineage tracking, and anomaly detection.
• Set standards for AI coding assistant usage to improve engineering leverage and productivity.
• Translate business requirements from product, finance, and compliance into an executable technical roadmap.
• Remove technical and process blockers to ensure the team ships reliable data products fast.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in an engineering leadership role managing delivery and people.
• Extensive experience with GCP and BigQuery.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Hands-on experience with orchestration and transformation tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Dataform.
• Knowledge of streaming technologies like Kafka or Pub/Sub.
• Proven experience building and enforcing data governance frameworks and CI/CD standards for data workflows.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial services, fintech, or highly regulated environments.
• Exposure to low-code integration tools like Fivetran or RudderStack.
• Experience managing data modeling techniques such as Kimball or Data Vault.
