About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support the full data engineering lifecycle, including research, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data management solutions.
  • Lead data acquisition efforts to gather data from structured and semi-structured source systems to power healthcare analytics.
  • Design and implement ETL/ELT methodologies to pull complex relational and dimensional data for DataMarts and reporting aggregates.
  • Detect data quality issues, identify root causes, and implement fixes to ensure data integrity and reliability.
  • Partner with the broader analytics organization to recommend improvements to data systems and platform architecture.
  • Prepare high-level and detailed technical design documents following industry best practices.
  • Leverage DevOps tools for code versioning and deployment, and use monitoring tools to detect integrity issues.
  • Contribute to the evolution of standards for high-quality documentation, data governance, and security.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in IT, Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, including ingestion, normalization, transformation, and storage.
  • 5+ years of experience with industry-standard relational, dimensional, or non-relational data storage systems.
  • 5+ years of experience designing ETL/ELT solutions using tools such as Informatica, DataStage, SSIS, PL/SQL, or T-SQL.
  • 5+ years of experience managing data assets using SQL, Python, Scala, or VB.NET.
  • 3+ years of experience working with healthcare data or supporting healthcare organizations.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Spark, and ADO.
