Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable batch and real-time ETL/ELT pipelines
• Implement data ingestion patterns including APIs, streaming, and CDC
• Build and maintain data lakes, lakehouse layers, and curated datasets
• Implement data validation frameworks, monitoring, and observability tools
• Develop and deploy data solutions on cloud platforms, specifically Azure
• Build infrastructure-as-code and implement CI/CD pipelines for data workflows
• Partner with data scientists and BI teams to prepare training datasets and semantic layers
• Maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and lineage mappings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering
• Proficiency in SQL and Python
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Azure preferred)
• Advanced knowledge of data pipeline development and relational databases

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a relevant field
• Experience with real-time data processing
• Knowledge of data governance practices
• Experience with Big Data technologies such as Spark or Hadoop
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric
