Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, support, and maintain ETL processes using Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
• Write advanced SQL queries and scripts to extract data from multiple sources including Blackbaud CRM, NetSuite, and MailChimp
• Create and maintain data models and ETL packages to feed various data destinations
• Apply Medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) for scalable data lakehouse development
• Develop automation tools for end-to-end processes from source systems to destinations
• Pull data from REST APIs including HL7-FHIR, XML, and JSON
• Perform data validation and execute testing plans to ensure data integrity
• Implement and enforce data security measures within the Data Warehouse
• Write technical documentation for all data processes and pipelines

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Programming, or a related field
• 5+ years of extensive ETL/ELT building and monitoring experience for data warehouses or data lakes
• Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, and PL/SQL
• Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and MS Azure SQL database
• Experience with MS SSIS and Medallion architecture design patterns
• Experience using Bitbucket for source code management and version control
• Strong problem-solving, project management, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory
• Knowledge of Python, C#, or .NET
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI
• Experience with Blackbaud CRM, Shopify, or NetSuite ERP solutions
• Experience in Healthcare or Princess Margaret Foundation Information Systems
