Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design and implementation of a reporting platform using Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or comparable cloud platforms
• Design and maintain batch data pipelines using ELT/ETL patterns and orchestration frameworks
• Develop and govern master and reference data structures to support dimensional modelling and reporting quality
• Profile, cleanse, transform, and validate source data with implemented quality controls and auditability
• Apply data modelling best practices to build reusable lakehouse, warehouse, and semantic models
• Evaluate and implement AI-assisted approaches for data classification and anomaly detection
• Design and deliver Power BI datasets, semantic models, and dashboards with row-level security
• Own technical delivery of cost management data solutions, including ingestion workflows and historical version control
• Partner with finance, operations, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data products
• Establish DevOps and platform operations practices including monitoring, alerting, and release management
• Define and enforce standards for data governance, metadata, lineage, and access control

Requirements

• 8-10 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or enterprise reporting
• Strong experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure SQL, or Databricks
• Advanced SQL skills and strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with Spark or PySpark
• Expertise in dimensional modelling, semantic layer design, and data warehousing
• Practical experience building Power BI data models and DAX measures
• Experience integrating data from ERP, finance, project, and CRM platforms via APIs or databases
• Understanding of data quality frameworks and testing strategies
• Fluency in English and Spanish

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering cost analytics or commercial reporting solutions
• Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric components like OneLake and Dataflows Gen2
• Experience with dbt, Git, Azure DevOps, or Terraform
• Exposure to AI/ML techniques for data operations
• Relevant Microsoft certifications (Fabric Analytics Engineer, Azure Data Engineer, or Power BI)
