Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architecting TikTak's data platform end-to-end including ingestion, warehouse, transformation, and the self-service layer
• Designing and owning the semantic and metrics layer to serve as the single source of truth for company KPIs
• Building a self-service BI foundation for business teams
• Setting standards for data modeling, dimensional design, testing, CI/CD, and governance
• Building scalable pipelines using dbt, Airflow, and the modern data stack on AWS
• Optimizing performance and cost on Redshift and PostgreSQL
• Partnering with leadership to translate strategy into data infrastructure
• Mentoring engineers and analysts as the team scales

Requirements

• 7+ years in data or analytics engineering
• Experience building a data platform from the ground up
• Deep proficiency in SQL and Python
• Expert knowledge of dbt, Airflow, and cloud data warehouses
• Strong AWS experience including S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, and EC2
• Mastery of data modeling and dimensional design
• Proven ability to build self-service layers for non-technical teams
• Ability to translate business requirements into robust, well-documented data solutions
