Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines using Airflow, Python, dbt, and Snowflake
• Manage and evolve cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP) using Terraform
• Write clean, production-grade code and champion engineering best practices including CI/CD
• Design performant SQL transformations and data models in Snowflake
• Implement observability and monitoring to ensure data reliability and quality
• Partner with Data Analysts and Product Managers to deliver high-quality data products

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Python for data processing and automation
• Advanced SQL expertise and experience with cloud data warehousing (Snowflake preferred)
• Proven experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
• Familiarity with Terraform and cloud services (AWS or GCP)
• Experience handling sensitive medical data (PHI/PII) and implementing secure access controls
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in dbt for managing transformations
• Experience working with healthcare data standards or HIPAA regulated environments
• Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
