Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to process large volumes of data
• Build and optimize data lakes, data warehouses, and lakehouse structures
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and optimized semantic models
• Write and optimize DAX measures, calculated columns, and KPIs
• Use Power Query (M) for data transformations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical deliverables
• Perform testing, debugging, and validation of pipelines and reports to ensure data correctness
• Work within Agile development cycles including sprint planning and daily stand-ups

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or BI Engineer
• Strong proficiency in Power BI (Data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and optimization)
• Hands-on experience with SQL (MySQL or PostgreSQL preferred)
• Proficiency in Python for data transformation and automation
• Experience with data warehousing and lakehouse principles
• Familiarity with Git and modern collaborative development workflows
• Experience working in Linux environments and writing shell scripts

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks, Spark, or PySpark
• Experience with Pandas
• Experience with APIs and data integrations using Flask or similar frameworks
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP
