Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Identify, design and implement internal process improvements including infrastructure re-design and automation
• Develop and design data pipelines to support end-to-end solutions
• Develop and maintain artifacts such as schemas, data dictionaries, and ETL transforms
• Integrate data pipelines with AWS cloud services
• Work with stakeholders to support data infrastructure needs and technical issues
• Provide Tier 3 technical support for deployed applications and dataflows
• Define product vision and manage roadmaps in partnership with government product owners
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to design and launch new features
• Coordinate and document dataflows and capabilities

Requirements

• Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
• Expertise in distributed computing frameworks for large-scale data processing
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud environments
• Experience with datastores including PostgreSQL, S3, Redshift, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch
• Proficiency in Python with libraries like pandas and PySpark
• Experience with NiFi, Airflow, or AWS Lambda
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, JMS/SQS, SNS, and Kafka
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix server environments
• Experience with Agile development methodology
• Proficiency with Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field
• Experience with the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
• Experience with IC-GovCloud environments
• Experience with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Knowledge of public keys and digital certificates
• Experience in DevOps environments
• Expertise in COTS, GOTS, and open source tools for data integration and visualization
