Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performing data integration pipelines using Google BigQuery.
• Ingest structured and semi-structured data from enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, E-commerce) into a centralized cloud data warehouse.
• Build analytics-ready pipelines that transform raw data into curated datasets for reporting and advanced analytics.
• Implement transformation logic using DBT to create modular and maintainable data models.
• Automate and monitor complex data workflows using Airflow or Cloud Composer.
• Develop efficient, reusable Python and SQL code for data ingestion, validation, and performance tuning.
• Establish robust data quality checks and testing strategies to ensure technical accuracy.
• Mentor junior engineers, conduct peer code reviews, and contribute to technical documentation and CI/CD workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering and data warehousing.
• Expert-level proficiency in Google BigQuery.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and transformation.
• Hands-on experience with DBT for data modeling.
• Experience with Airflow or Cloud Composer for workflow orchestration.
• Proven experience building enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with modern ETL platforms like Ascend.io, Databricks, Fivetran, or Dataflow.
• Knowledge of data cataloging and governance tools (e.g., Collibra).
• Experience with CI/CD tools, Git workflows, and infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with real-time/event-driven data processing using Pub/Sub or Kafka.
