Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Enable the development of data-driven decision analysis products using data science, machine learning, and operations research.
• Provide analytic consulting services, supporting workflow, product development, and the creation of analysis-ready data.
• Act as the primary onsite technical contact to ensure stakeholders have necessary analytical tools, data products, and reports.
• Assist both technical and non-technical stakeholders with the analysis of DoD datasets and demonstrate insights gained from Test and Evaluation (T&E) data.
• Operate and demonstrate CHEETAS and other internal tools, adapting notebooks and reports to meet emerging requirements.
• Gather use cases and requirements from stakeholders to provide feature requests or bug reports to the development team.
• Perform hands-on training sessions and troubleshoot problems within closed networks.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI Clearance is required.
• Degree in a STEM field (Operations Research, Engineering, Applied Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or IT).
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in big data analytics.
• 5+ years of experience with object-oriented and functional programming languages (e.g., Python, R, C++, Java, or Scala).
• Experience with big data infrastructure such as Spark, Trino, Hadoop, Hive, or similar distributed computing environments.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience managing ETL processes.
• Experience using notebooks (Jupyter, RMarkdown) and interactive visualization tools (RShiny, Dash, etc.).
• Ability to travel up to 25-50% to support DoD ranges and labs across the US.
