Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven decision analysis products using machine learning, data science, and big data infrastructure to support DoD modernization
• Provide analytic consulting services, supporting workflow, product development, and the creation of analysis-ready data
• Act as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, demonstrating analytical tools and conveying insights from DoD Test and Evaluation (T&E) data
• Build, optimize, and maintain big data pipelines, architectures, and datasets
• Adapt internally-developed tools, notebooks, and reports to meet emerging requirements and gather feature requests for the development team
• Perform hands-on training and troubleshooting for end users within closed network environments

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, or Statistics
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in big data analytics
• 5+ years of experience with object-oriented or functional programming (e.g., Python, R, C++, Java, or Scala)
• Proficiency with SQL and ETL processes
• Experience with big data infrastructure such as Spark, Trino, Hadoop, Hive, or similar distributed computing frameworks
• Experience using scripting languages (Python/R) and notebooks (Jupyter/RMarkdown) for reproducible research
• Experience with interactive visualization tools (e.g., RShiny, Dash) and presenting findings to technical and non-technical audiences
