Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on development and delivery of code from origin to production
• Design frameworks and build reusable data solutions for the Enterprise Data & Analytics Platform
• Integrate components to enable faster acquisition, ingestion, and curation of analytical-ready datasets
• Collaborate with team members and 3rd party providers to ensure high-quality, timely delivery
• Incorporate Agile methodologies and DevOps approaches into the delivery process
• Contribute to technical architecture discussions in partnership with Data Architects
• Maintain governance and manage project risks and issues within a global environment

Requirements

• MS/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of professional Data Engineering experience
• Proficiency in coding languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala
• Hands-on experience with the Azure data stack (e.g., Databricks, Data Factory, SQL DW)
• Strong knowledge of big-data processing and "schema-on-read" methodologies
• Experience with Agile delivery frameworks and tools like Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps
• Experience with data visualization tools and developing KPI scorecards

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep understanding of Spark, Databricks, and Delta Lake
• Experience integrating enterprise data tools such as Snowflake, Talend, or Collibra
• Proven ability to progress solutions from MVP to scaled-up production environments
• Experience working in a distributed, product-centric delivery team
