Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Assist in building ETL pipelines for AFIMSC data platforms
• Support the migration of civil engineering data to cloud environments
• Help ensure data quality and governance compliance
• Document data workflows and integration processes
• Troubleshoot basic data pipeline issues
• Collaborate with data scientists for model deployment
• Assist in optimizing database performance and supporting secure data transfer protocols
• Participate in the testing and validation of data flows

Requirements

• An active and maintained "Secret" Federal or DoD security clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Basic SQL and Python skills
• Understanding of data structures and ETL concepts

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with relational databases and data visualization tools
• Knowledge of API integration and big data frameworks
• Experience with version control systems and agile development
• Interest in data governance, cybersecurity, or metadata management
