Data Engineer GCP - Senior

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical work plan to implement, deploy, and stabilize BI projects and improvements using GCP and Power BI.
• Design scalable and secure data architectures using BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Composer, and Pub/Sub.
• Define standards for data modeling, quality, observability, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Collaborate with users, data scientists, and engineers to prioritize requirements and mentor the team.
• Resolve production issues in GCP and Power BI, optimizing for performance and cost.
• Maintain the corporate BI ecosystem ensuring compliance with architecture, security, and data governance policies.

Requirements

• University degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in similar data engineering roles.
• Advanced expertise in GCP for data engineering, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Composer.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python for production-level development.
• Experience with batch/streaming architectures, lakehouse design, and data governance.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and Terraform or other IaC tools.
• Strong communication skills to explain data findings to various stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.
• Experience with Power BI Gateway and Fabric Analytics (One Lake).
• Proven track record leading commercial or financial data projects within Azure environments.
