Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end operational management of the cloud data platform, adhering to data management and governance practices.
• Create and manage data ingestion and extraction processes, including web data collection via Python, API integrations, and batch file deliveries.
• Retrieve and aggregate datasets from multiple sources into actionable formats to support business decision-making.
• Develop database query and visualization tools to identify and understand platform issues or events.
• Provide technical expertise in the extraction, integration, and analysis of critical data.
• Own test case scenarios, prepare test data, and perform DataOps User Acceptance testing as platform functionality evolves.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in a Data Operations, Data Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Experience with data ingestion and collection libraries such as Pandas, Selenium, Beautiful Soup, or Scrapy.
• Knowledge of DataOps methodologies and best practices.
• Experience with cloud-based data processing, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with web data collection, FTP, and APIs.
• Solid understanding of data transformation processes and complex data structures.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
