Responsibilities

• Design and maintain PostgreSQL schemas for LIS application modules
• Author and review Prisma migrations and develop data contracts
• Design, build, and operate ETL/ELT pipelines ingesting data from legacy and external sources
• Build FHIR transformation pipelines for clinical application consumption
• Maintain and evolve the data warehouse to support dashboards and operational reporting
• Implement audit-trail and history-table patterns for HIPAA compliance
• Enforce data access controls and column-level security
• Mentor analysts growing into data engineering responsibilities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 3-6+ years of hands-on data engineering experience in production
• Strong SQL skills including complex queries, optimization, and indexing
• Experience designing relational schemas in PostgreSQL
• Fluency with Git-based version control and collaborative workflows
• Ability to read and reason about TypeScript and Node.js or Python code
• Experience working in regulated environments with PHI and HIPAA obligations

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL JSONB and Prisma ORM
• Experience with Azure data services (Azure Data Factory, Blob Storage, etc.)
• Familiarity with FHIR (HL7 R4) data structures
• Experience with synthetic data generation strategies
• Healthcare data domain experience
