Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain data architecture and infrastructure for effective processing and analysis
• Deliver all stages of the data engineering process including ingestion, transformation, modeling, and warehousing
• Build meta-data driven data ingestion patterns using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric, or Synapse
• Build and maintain on-premises SQL Data Warehouses and Azure Analysis Services cubes
• Collaborate with Data Analysts and stakeholders to understand business and data requirements
• Develop and promote exceptional engineering documentation and practices
• Work with Architecture and Engineering teams to ensure infrastructure follows best practices

Requirements

• 5+ years of proven engineering expertise
• Excellent data analysis and exploration using T-SQL
• Strong SQL programming including stored procedures and functions
• Extensive experience with SQL Server and SSIS / SSAS
• Knowledge of data warehouse modeling methodologies like Star Schema and Snowflake Schema
• Experience with Azure ecosystem: Data Factory, Databricks, MS Fabric, PySpark, and ADLS Gen2
• Experience building robust ETL processes and using CI/CD pipelines
• Proficiency with Python and source control
• Familiarity with Lakehouse, Medallion architecture, and Data as a Product approach
• Experience building infrastructure-as-code deployment pipelines
