Data Centre Technician

Responsibilities

• Deploy new hardware including servers, storage, and networking equipment
• Perform physical repairs and upgrades on existing infrastructure
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to hardware, connectivity, and configuration
• Relocate or reconfigure hardware to support operational changes
• Decommission and recycle outdated equipment
• Execute network maintenance tasks such as cabling and port testing
• Maintain accurate records of asset tracking and configuration updates
• Participate in 5S, continuous improvement, and emergency response efforts
• Adhere to all safety, security, and operational procedures

Requirements

• Technical diploma or certification in electronics, IT hardware, or related field
• Experience in data centre or IT hardware environments preferred
• Basic to intermediate computer skills and familiarity with network components
• Ability to follow instructions in English
• Willingness to travel locally between data centre sites
• Ability to lift and manoeuvre equipment up to 50-100 pounds
• Ability to work in environments with elevated temperatures and noise levels
• Availability to work within an 8x7 shift framework
