Data Centre Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform equipment rack and stack operations
• Cable, label, and terminate fiber or copper network cabling
• Assist with hardware and software troubleshooting and diagnosis
• Perform cabinet/cage audits and inventory verification
• Install or remove blades, cards, memory, hard drives, and transceivers
• Test and troubleshoot copper and fiber optic circuits
• Manage equipment, power, or networking device migrations
• Handle shipping, receiving, and logging of internal packages
• Monitor and report on power utilization in co-locations
• Maintain data center cleanliness and appearance
• Work flexible shift schedules including rotational on-call coverage

Requirements

• 1+ years of experience in Telecommunications or Data Centre related fields
• In-depth knowledge of Telecom structured cabling standards
• In-depth knowledge of network device and server deployment
• In-depth knowledge of DCO standards and operations
• 1+ years of experience using industry standard test equipment
• Experience with Building Management Systems and Branch Circuit Monitoring
• Ability to lift and handle up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work under raised data center floors and climb ladders up to 16 feet
