Data Center Technician

Responsibilities

• Install and perform ongoing maintenance on servers and network equipment, including rack and stack, cabling, and physical configuration
• Respond to reported server, network, and infrastructure issues
• Coordinate with facility staff regarding power, cooling, and other services to ensure proper operation and address outages
• Run hardware diagnostics and replace failing parts in a timely manner
• Work with vendor warranty technicians to resolve warranty issues promptly
• Proactively identify efficiency improvements and develop resolution plans
• Setup, maintain, and document spare parts inventory
• Collaborate with software and network engineering teams on cybersecurity and network efficiency
• Upgrade internal system components including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables
• Maintain detailed documentation of infrastructure, work, and physical parts inventory

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a datacenter technician role or similar
• Experience with large scale network and server deployments
• Firm understanding of GPU hardware and liquid cooled rack solutions
• Ability to work independently to manage projects within the facility
• Firm understanding of servers, network equipment, and datacenter facility services (power, cooling, cross connections)
• Experience troubleshooting, building, repairing, and upgrading servers
• Strong organizational and communication skills
