Data Center Technician

Responsibilities

• Maintain data center hardware through configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Diagnose and resolve system, compute, and network issues to restore functionality
• Ensure new server, storage, and network infrastructure is properly racked, labeled, cabled, and configured
• Act as a subject matter expert on physical technical aspects, including power deployment and cabling infrastructure
• Proactively monitor onsite hardware to prevent failures
• Collaborate with Hardware Support and RMA teams to resolve support tickets and manage faulty part replacements
• Create installation standards and documentation for placement, labeling, and cabling to ensure consistency

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in data centers with proficiency in critical infrastructure (power distribution, airflow, DCIM, etc.)
• Strong Linux administration experience
• Experience setting up networking appliances, specifically Ethernet and InfiniBand
• High attention to detail regarding debugging, cabling, and documentation
• Resourceful problem-solving skills and the ability to work under constraints
• Ability to work in a 24/7 environment and participate in an on-call rotation
• Strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with network engineers and SREs

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments
• Experience working with Dell or Nvidia equipment
