Data Center Technician Tier 2

Responsibilities

• Install, service, and maintain low voltage category cabling and communications cabling
• Rack and stack equipment and manage cable infrastructure
• Clean fiber and copper connections and perform basic troubleshooting
• Follow Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Method of Procedure (CMOP) guidelines
• Operate work ticket systems and validate port maps
• Conduct power distribution and cable management tasks
• Respond to emergency situations to meet service level agreements (SLAs)
• Conduct Service Swaps of live networking devices

Requirements

• Associate degree or certification in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of experience in low voltage cable infrastructure systems
• Proven ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables
• Familiarity with BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and National Electric Code standards
• Valid driver's license
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in fiber optics
• Industry certifications such as BICSI TECH or Corning TS-LAN500
