About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform daily on-site data center support including hardware installations, de-installations, and moves/adds/changes.
- Install, stage, and configure infrastructure and test equipment according to approved standards.
- Maintain DCIM tool data for asset placement, rack layouts, and configuration lifecycle status.
- Manage physical security practices, including key access control and enforcement of access procedures.
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, and vendors to schedule and complete data center tasks.
- Track tickets, work orders, and change activities with accurate documentation and status updates.
- Support 24x7x365 emergency operational response activities as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data center support and equipment configuration.
- Hands-on experience with logistics coordination and tracking in production data center environments.
- BICSI Certification or equivalent.
- Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust clearance.
- Proficiency in data center equipment installation and DCIM tool administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal IT infrastructure operations in a regulated environment.
- Familiarity with multi-site data center operations.
- Experience using ITSM/change-management workflows.
- Knowledge of data center capacity metrics and utilization reporting.
- Certifications such as CDCDP, ITIL 4 Foundation, or CompTIA Server+.
