Data Center Technician - Mid

Responsibilities

• Perform daily on-site data center support including hardware installations, de-installations, and moves/adds/changes.
• Install, stage, and configure infrastructure and test equipment according to approved standards.
• Maintain DCIM tool data for asset placement, rack layouts, and configuration lifecycle status.
• Manage physical security practices, including key access control and enforcement of access procedures.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, and vendors to schedule and complete data center tasks.
• Track tickets, work orders, and change activities with accurate documentation and status updates.
• Support 24x7x365 emergency operational response activities as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data center support and equipment configuration.
• Hands-on experience with logistics coordination and tracking in production data center environments.
• BICSI Certification or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust clearance.
• Proficiency in data center equipment installation and DCIM tool administration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting federal IT infrastructure operations in a regulated environment.
• Familiarity with multi-site data center operations.
• Experience using ITSM/change-management workflows.
• Knowledge of data center capacity metrics and utilization reporting.
• Certifications such as CDCDP, ITIL 4 Foundation, or CompTIA Server+.
