Data Center Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting following standard procedures to identify and replace faulty components.
• Execute hardware deployments, including staging, setting up, and performing post-execution quality checks.
• Verify that grounding, labeling, cabling, and staging are set up according to safety protocols and deployment standards.
• Decommission hardware for simple changes and refreshes, such as memory upgrades or rebuilds.
• Communicate, report, and escalate incidents to appropriate management units, technician leads, and engineering specialists.
• Provide guidance and assistance to other technicians to complete complex tasks.
• Contribute to a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in regular team meetings.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, TAFE, or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• 1+ years of industry work experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Must be able to meet Microsoft and government security screening requirements.
• Verification of Australian Citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of industry work experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+) or Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
