Data Center Technician Lead

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate the installation, service, and maintenance of low voltage and communications cabling
• Lead and mentor a team in pulling cables, racking and stacking equipment, and managing data center infrastructure
• Ensure quality of fiber and copper connections and oversee troubleshooting efforts
• Develop and enforce Method of Procedure (MOP) and Change Method of Procedure (CMOP) guidelines
• Manage work ticket systems, infrastructure interfaces, and documentation including port maps
• Direct power distribution and cable management tasks to optimize performance and safety
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory and respond to emergency situations to meet SLAs
• Lead the usage of specialized equipment like DSX 5000 and OTDR testers
• Foster a collaborative team environment through meetings, training, and coaching

Requirements

• Associate degree or higher in a technology services/technical discipline, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience leading teams and managing low voltage cable infrastructure installations
• Demonstrated ability to install, terminate, and test low voltage cables with expertise in fiber optics
• Expert knowledge of industry standards including BICSI, ANSI, EIA/TIA, and National Electric Code
• Valid driver's license and ability to safely drive company vehicles

Preferred Qualifications

• Industry and manufacturer-specific certifications such as BICSI TECH or Corning TSLAN-500
