Data Center Technician L2

Responsibilities

• Support rack & stack, hardware installation, and structured cabling during the deployment phase
• Assist with system provisioning, configuration, and validation activities
• Perform Layer 1 troubleshooting and assist with Layer 2/3 diagnostics
• Monitor and respond to hardware and infrastructure issues through ticketing systems
• Maintain accurate asset tracking and inventory records using ITSM/DCIM tools
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety, and security protocols
• Participate in change management processes and on-call rotations for 24x7 operations

Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience in data center operations or similar technical environments
• Hands-on experience with hardware installation and structured cabling
• Basic understanding of networking concepts (switches, routers, cabling) and Layer 2/3 fundamentals
• Familiarity with network device CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper, or Dell)
• Experience using ITSM/DCIM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira
• Fluency in English (written and verbal) for cross-functional coordination
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Linux operating systems
• Working knowledge of server hardware (Dell, HPE, Supermicro, or similar)
• CompTIA Server+, Network+, or equivalent certifications
• ITIL Foundation or CCNA certification
• Experience with system provisioning via USB, PXE, or network-based methods
