Data Center Technician L2

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day data center support including server and network hardware installation
• Execute copper and fiber-optic cabling and maintain high-quality cable management
• Conduct Layer 1 troubleshooting and monitor hardware/software issues
• Manage IT asset lifecycles using scanners and ITSM/DCIM workflow management systems
• Participate in the change management process and join an on-call rotation for after-hours support
• Document technical issues and communications clearly within ticketing systems like Jira

Requirements

• 2-3 years of Rack and Stack experience
• Proficiency with network hardware Command Line Interfaces (CLI) such as Cisco, Arista, Dell, or Juniper
• Hands-on experience with cabling (Fiber, Cat6, SM/MM, and IB)
• Experience with OS provisioning and reprovisioning via USB or network share
• Solid understanding of DNS, DHCP, and basic networking protocols
• Ability to safely lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds and remain on feet for most of the workday
• Ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour and provide own transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• CompTIA Server+, ITIL Foundation, CCNA, or CCENT certifications
• Familiarity with Linux operating systems
• Experience with O365 software
• Knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network troubleshooting
• Experience operating material handling equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts
