Data Center Technician IV

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation, moving, and decommissioning of hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, servers, and storage devices
• Perform asset tagging, scanning, and labeling of devices, racks, and cables to ensure accurate documentation
• Manage cabling tasks using power, copper, and fiber systems according to ticket requirements and SOP standards
• Utilize ticketing systems to provide clear, timely, and professional communication to customers
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety policies, and security policies under the direction of site leadership
• Act as a team leader on complex assignments requiring high initiative and minimal oversight

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 8+ years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Extensive experience with cabling systems, including CAT5e, CAT6, multi-mode, and single-mode fiber
• Strong working knowledge of computer hardware and networking infrastructure
• Proven troubleshooting skills and familiarity with copper and fiber testers
• Hands-on experience with electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructure
• Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds and operate material handling equipment like server lifts or pallet jacks
• Ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour
• Must provide own transportation to work locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certifications in Data Center technologies
