Data Center Technician III

Responsibilities

• Install, move, and decommission hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, servers, and storage devices.
• Perform asset tagging, scanning, and labeling of devices, racks, and cables.
• Execute cabling tasks using fiber, copper (CAT5e/CAT6), and other media according to SOP standards.
• Manage work through a standard ticketing system, providing clear and timely customer communications.
• Maintain data center environments by following safety, security, and program policies.
• Act as a mentor to less experienced team members and provide recommendations for technical solutions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 5 to 8 years of related experience or training.
• Proven experience with cabling systems, including multi-mode/single-mode fiber and copper.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and working knowledge of computer hardware and networking components.
• Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs and operate material handling equipment like server lifts or pallet jacks.
• Proficiency with MS Office, web browsers, and the ability to learn new software quickly.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written) and the ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour.
• Must provide own transportation to work locations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Data Center technologies.
• Hands-on experience with electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures.
• Working knowledge of networking components and infrastructures, including Wi-Fi.
