Data Center Technician II

Responsibilities

• Install, move, and decommission hardware including cabinets, shelves, power strips, rails, servers, and storage devices
• Perform asset tagging, scanning, and labeling of devices, racks, and cables
• Execute cabling tasks using fiber, copper, and other media according to ticket requirements and SOP standards
• Manage tasks through a standard ticketing system with clear and timely customer communication
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all safety and security policies
• Maintain data center documentation and assist with general maintenance

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 2 to 5 years of related experience or training
• Experience with CAT5e, CAT6, multi-mode, and single-mode fiber cabling
• Working knowledge of computer hardware and networking components
• Proficiency with copper and fiber testers and cable management best practices
• Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds
• Ability to respond to on-call requests within 1 hour
• Strong troubleshooting, organization, and communication skills
• Must provide own transportation to work locations

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications in Data Center technologies
• Hands-on experience with electrical, HVAC, and data center infrastructures
• Working knowledge of Wi-Fi and broader networking infrastructures
