Data Center Technician

Responsibilities

• Operate and support Data Center facilities on a 24x7 shift basis
• Perform racking, de-racking, and physical installation of servers, network devices, and power
• Handle copper and fiber cabling in compliance with TIA-942 standards
• Monitor environmental and facility systems including power, HVAC, and fire detection
• Perform break/fix support for Windows and Linux servers
• Ensure data center security, access control, and work permit compliance
• Interface with vendors such as HP, Dell, Sun, and Supermicro
• Prepare end-of-shift reports and maintain accurate documentation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years of IT experience with at least 3 years in Data Center operations
• Hands-on experience with server hardware installation and cabling
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows Server and Linux installation and configuration
• Basic understanding of UPS, power circuits, and HVAC systems
• Ability to work shifts, nights, weekends, and on-call schedules
