Data Center Technician

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the server environment for a Federal Government agency
• Communicate with stakeholders regarding system status and issue resolution
• Collaborate with Systems Administrators to troubleshoot and document server maintenance
• Perform physical and virtual server reboots using VMware vSphere
• Test connectivity and open problem outages for server-related issues
• Escalate complex issues to Level 2 Operations Engineers
• Escort and monitor un-cleared workers on-site to maintain security
• Assist with data center equipment installation, removal, and cabling

Requirements

• Degree in IT or 1-3 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure or data centers
• Active Secret Clearance
• Experience with ITSM tools or ticketing systems like ServiceNow
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite
• Ability to work a specific day shift schedule (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday)
• Ability to perform onsite work in Beltsville, MD

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of VMware vSphere
