Responsibilities
- Lead the development of next-generation data center reference architectures integrating electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains
- Continuously scan the industry for emerging technologies, vendor capabilities, and evolving standards
- Define and maintain systems-level architecture to ensure coherence across engineering disciplines
- Guide emerging technologies through the full lifecycle from bench-scale testing to hyperscale rollout
- Serve as the principal technical voice within the R&D organization on infrastructure architecture
- Author high-level system specifications, interface control documents, and design standards
- Partner with engineering teams to translate R&D findings into actionable guidance for production
- Build and maintain technical relationships with industry providers, startups, OEMs, and research groups
- Partner with leadership on technology choices supporting long-term growth strategy
Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive engineering experience in data center design, large-scale infrastructure, or industrial power systems
- Demonstrated ability to architect across electrical, mechanical, thermal, and compute domains
- Working knowledge of power generation, cooling technologies (including direct liquid cooling), and compute/networking infrastructure
- Experience leading technology evaluations, feasibility studies, or architectural explorations
- Experience authoring system-level architecture documents and interface specifications
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional engineering teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience at a hyperscale in a systems architecture or principal engineering role
- Experience with modular or containerized data center design
- Familiarity with DC power distribution architectures
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU-accelerated AI infrastructure
- Background in mission-critical facility design including redundancy and reliability engineering
