Data Center Structural Engineer

Fluidstack is focused on delivering massive scale compute infrastructure for AI. The company acquires power, designs and builds data centers, and operates them with teams spanning hardware and software to support the next generation of AI models.

Responsibilities

• Support structural engineering workstreams across a multi-site development portfolio from site screening through construction completion
• Support structural due diligence for greenfield and conversion sites, including foundation conditions and existing-structure assessments
• Review geotechnical reports and assign structural design actions based on soil bearing capacities, settlement risk, and seismic classification
• Develop and maintain structural basis of design, standard details, and specifications
• Coordinate with civil, geotech, and MEP teams
• Manage external structural engineers of record through design milestones and review deliverables for quality through IFC
• Identify structural cost risks during site selection, including retrofit complexity on conversions

Requirements

• Experience in structural engineering for large-scale buildings or infrastructure
• Ability to read geotechnical reports and translate soil and seismic data into structural design actions
• Experience coordinating with civil, geotech, and MEP teams
• Experience managing external engineers of record through IFC
• Knowledge of foundations, structural steel, and building envelope systems for large-format buildings
• Ability to identify structural cost and constructability risks early in the process

Preferred Qualifications

• PE license or active pursuit of one
• Experience with data center, industrial, or mission-critical structures
• Proficiency in ETABS, RISA, or RAM
• Experience with seismic design
• Experience with conversion and retrofit projects
