Data Center Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and performance of data center infrastructure, including compute, network, power, and cooling systems.
• Support hardware installation, structured cabling, and Layer 1–3 network troubleshooting.
• Partner with colocation providers to review MOPs/EOPs, validate redundancy, and oversee maintenance activities.
• Operate and support critical infrastructure systems such as UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, and chillers.
• Lead incident response and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure events.
• Develop and refine SOPs and implement automation to streamline data center operations.
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure engineering, or critical facilities environments.
• Proven experience supporting both IT systems and facility infrastructure (electrical and cooling).
• Professional fluency in both English and French (written and verbal).
• Proficiency with Linux systems and automation tools such as Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Ability to troubleshoot network infrastructure via CLI (Cisco, Arista, or Juniper).
• Strong understanding of data center fundamentals, including redundancy and high availability design.
• Experience with ITSM/DCIM platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, NetBox).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data center build-outs, commissioning, or large-scale greenfield deployments.
• CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Linux+ certifications.
• ITIL Foundation certification.
• CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent networking certifications.
