Data Center Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the reliability and performance of data center infrastructure, including compute, network, power, and cooling systems
• Support hardware installation, structured cabling, and Layer 1–3 network troubleshooting
• Partner with colocation providers to review MOPs/EOPs, validate redundancy, and oversee maintenance activities
• Operate and support critical infrastructure systems such as UPS, PDUs, switchgear, generators, CRAC/CRAH units, and chillers
• Lead incident response and perform root cause analysis (RCA) for infrastructure events
• Develop and refine SOPs to improve operational consistency and efficiency
• Implement automation and tooling to streamline data center operations
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support 24/7 operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data center operations, infrastructure engineering, or critical facilities environments
• Professional fluency in both English and French (written and verbal)
• Hands-on experience with both IT infrastructure and critical facility systems (electrical and cooling)
• Proficiency with Linux systems and basic automation tools (Bash, Python, Ansible)
• Ability to troubleshoot network infrastructure via CLI (Cisco, Arista, Juniper)
• Familiarity with ITSM/DCIM platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, NetBox, or Sunbird
• Experience managing or supporting outage events in production environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in data center build-outs, commissioning, or large-scale greenfield deployments
• CompTIA Server+, Network+, or Linux+ certifications
• ITIL Foundation certification
• CCNA, JNCIA, or equivalent networking certifications
