Data Center Lab Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform data center repairs, provisioning, decommissioning, and hardware troubleshooting to ensure operational readiness.
• Execute hardware installation, rack and stack, cabling, and device/system configuration.
• Utilize Linux command-line tools and techniques for system troubleshooting and configuration.
• Manage tasks and tickets, documenting installation, repair procedures, and rack layouts.
• Coordinate with internal Data Center teams on dependent tasks such as network configuration.
• Support asset and inventory management, including equipment RMA processes.
• Assist with space planning and the standardization of hardware for production and automation.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic understanding of PC and server hardware.
• Proficiency in the Linux command line with common UNIX tools.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with Linux system administration or network administration.
• Experience working in the physical layer of data center operations.
• Physical ability to safely lift and move a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
