Data Center IT Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve IT hardware issues to support data center infrastructure
• Install, upgrade, and dismantle hardware based on operational requirements
• Manage and maintain connectivity for fiber optic cables and patch cords
• Perform hardware and network diagnostics and physical repairs
• Process Return Merchandise Authorizations (RMAs) following established procedures
• Develop documentation and manuals for hardware configuration and maintenance
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to address technical challenges
• Monitor and evaluate progress on specific projects and workflows

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving server hardware issues
• Solid understanding of data center operations and network equipment principles
• Proficiency in Linux operating system and command-line tools
• Practical experience with server IT hardware and enterprise-grade network switches
• Experience with fiber optic cables
• Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and graph creation)
