Data Center Infrastructure Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize electrical topologies and equipment strategies for high-density AI compute
• Review and develop basis-of-design documents, single-line diagrams, and power system studies
• Lead technical evaluation of equipment vendors, manufacturers, and design consultants
• Evaluate AC and DC power distribution options including rectifier architectures and rack power shelves
• Partner with mechanical, cooling, and hardware teams to support liquid-cooled GPU rack deployments
• Drive FAT, SAT, witness testing, and integrated systems testing for critical infrastructure
• Define telemetry and controls requirements including metering, waveform capture, and UPS health
• Analyze operational incidents and power quality events to improve reliability models
• Provide senior technical escalation support during construction, commissioning, and deployment

Requirements

• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities or comparable infrastructure
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related discipline
• Hands-on experience with MV/LV distribution, transformers, switchgear, UPS systems, and grounding
• Experience producing electrical designs, equipment specifications, and commissioning plans
• Experience leading FAT, SAT, and root-cause investigations
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety requirements
• Ability to evaluate technical tradeoffs involving reliability, cost, and scalability

Preferred Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience
• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or power systems
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Chartered Engineer status
• Direct experience with hyperscale data centers or liquid-cooled compute environments
• Experience with BMS, EPMS, DCIM, SCADA, or PLCs
• Experience with modular power systems, BESS, or HVDC/LVDC architectures
