About the role
Responsibilities
- Monitor Data Center operations and HVAC performance to ensure optimal thermal environments
- Perform preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems
- Diagnose and repair fiber network infrastructure and server-level hardware issues
- Identify and repair data center problems quickly to minimize downtime
- Assist in technical writing of SOPs and MOP documents
- Manage contractor services and maintain relationships with critical infrastructure vendors
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency issues
Requirements
- Proficient knowledge of IT systems, network infrastructure, and electrical/mechanical systems
- Understanding of Transformers, PLCs, Generators, Switchgear, UPS, STS, ATS, PDUs, Chilled Water, and Fire Suppression systems
- Experience with data trending and integrated critical monitoring systems (EPMS/BMS)
- Expert knowledge in industrial safety including LOTO, NFPA 70E, and OSHA regulations
- Strong technical background in computer/network gear and support infrastructure (HVAC/electrical)
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in mission-critical environments like data centers, hospitals, or power plants
- CompTIA Network+, BICSI, or specialized electrical/HVAC licenses
- Experience with industrial control systems and PLC programming
