Data Center Design Architect

Responsibilities

• Own the architectural scope across the data center portfolio, ensuring facilities are safe, code-compliant, and optimized for density
• Lead architectural design development for new builds and retrofits, including building codes, fire and life safety, and 3D design
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and controls engineers to translate requirements into executable plans
• Manage external AEC vendors and serve as the primary escalation point for site-specific localization challenges
• Drive continuous improvement in code compliance, space utilization, and material flow

Requirements

• Experience leading architectural design for data centers or other complex, code-intensive facilities
• Proficiency in building codes, fire and life safety, and 3D design
• Experience coordinating across MEP, structural, and controls engineers
• Ability to manage external AEC vendors and handle multi-jurisdiction code localization
• Proven ability to communicate ideas to senior stakeholders and drive them through construction

Preferred Qualifications

• Licensed Architect (RA)
• Experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities
• Proficiency in Revit/BIM
• Fluency in NFPA and IBC
• Experience with high-density or liquid-cooled facility design
