Data Center Deployment Technician I

Responsibilities

• Accurately label fiber optic and copper cables according to client standards, drawings, and project requirements
• Verify cable IDs, rack locations, and labeling consistency at both ends of the cable
• Perform QC/QA checks to confirm labels are correct, legible, and properly placed
• Inspect cables for visible damage, breaks, kinks, or compromised jackets
• Identify and report labeling discrepancies or visible cable damage to project leadership
• Assist with updating labeling documentation, checklists, and redlines
• Follow all site safety requirements and wear required PPE
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 0–1 years of experience in a data center, cabling, or technical environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow labeling standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, structured environment
• Comfortable working in data centers, including raised floors and equipment aisles
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand or walk for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

• Exposure to fiber optic or copper cabling
• OSHA 10 certification
• Military, trade school, or technical training background
