Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Author the canonical data model across the product estate, including logical and physical modelling, entity relationships, and tenant isolation patterns.
• Define data contracts, naming standards, and reference-data discipline across product teams.
• Lead master data management efforts, including entity resolution and golden record creation.
• Define the Lakehouse target architecture, covering storage, table formats, query engines, and ingestion standards.
• Design the semantic/query layer for analysts, products, and AI agents.
• Define streaming and batch ingestion architecture using NATS JetStream, Apache Flink, and CDC patterns.
• Partner with leadership to ensure architecture aligns with the product roadmap and establish architecture review practices.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years in data or information architecture, specifically within a multi-product SaaS environment.
• Deep expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling and domain-oriented governance.
• Proven experience with Lakehouse architecture trade-offs (e.g., Iceberg vs. Delta, Dremio vs. Snowflake).
• Hands-on experience with Dremio, Snowflake, or Databricks.
• Proficiency with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Athena, or Lake Formation).
• Experience with NATS, Apache Kafka, or similar, and CDC patterns (Debezium).
• Experience with stream processing tools such as Apache Flink or Spark Structured Streaming.
• Strong understanding of SaaS data model design, including tenant isolation and shared schemas.
• Ability to communicate complex architecture decisions to engineers and executives.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in market data, financial services, or enterprise software-licensing domains.
• Familiarity with modern data catalog and lineage tools like DataHub, OpenMetadata, or Atlan.
• Experience designing data products for AI/agentic use cases, such as vector stores and RAG.
• Proficiency in Python for data pipeline scripting and orchestration.
• Exposure to real-time analytics use cases including anomaly detection and alerting.
