Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Manage the data engineering lifecycle including research, proof of concepts, architecture, design, development, test, deployment, and maintenance
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement technology that aligns with client business objectives
• Build proof of concepts for a modern analytics stack supporting Cloud-based Business Systems
• Manage, mentor, and develop junior resources
• Create actionable recommendations based on identified platform, structural, or logic problems
• Communicate and demonstrate a clear understanding of client business needs and goals
• Collaborate with other architects on solution designs and recommendations
• Manage day-to-day client relationships on projects

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience developing business intelligence and analytic solutions
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool)
• Thorough knowledge of data warehouse concepts and dimensional modelling
• Advanced SQL proficiency
• Experience with Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, or Databricks
• Experience setting up DBT projects, environments, jobs, and deployment
• Proficiency in DBT features including Jinja, Macros, Snapshots, and incremental models
• Proficiency in version control (GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps) and CI/CD
• 2+ years of Business Data Analyst experience
• 2+ years of consulting experience using SDLC
• 2+ years of experience with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience in Agile/Kanban/DevOps delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Snowflake SnowPro Core certification
• Hands-on experience with Azure
• Experience with AWS or GCP
• Experience with visualization tools like Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker
• Understanding of ETL/ELT processes
