Data Architect

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver innovative data solutions on AWS, Azure, and GCP
• Lead the analysis, architecture, design, and development of next-generation Data Platform Solutions
• Facilitate working design sessions with Slalom and client technical teams
• Understand client technical challenges and evolve their future state architecture
• Break down complex development tasks and ensure timely, quality completion of development items
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including defining technical approaches and project estimation

Requirements

• Extensive experience in architecture design
• Deep expertise in cloud data warehouse tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
• Experience with distributed processing engines (e.g., Apache Spark, Presto)
• Proficiency with event streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis)
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment and must be within commutable distance to Toronto

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Object Oriented Coding (Java, Python)
• Knowledge of NoSQL Databases (DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB)
• Experience with Container Management Systems (Kubernetes, Amazon ECS)
• Familiarity with AI/ML platforms (Amazon SageMaker, Azure ML Studio)
• Proficiency in modern data workflows (Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster)
