Data & Analytics Product Owner - Finance

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain the finance-domain product backlog, ensuring stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development
• Translate finance business requirements into actionable user stories, features, and acceptance criteria
• Lead agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and story elaboration sessions
• Act as the primary liaison between Finance & Accounting stakeholders and the analytics development team
• Guide the development of finance analytics solutions, including dashboards, reports, and self-service BI tools
• Champion the adoption of self-service Power BI capabilities and drive data literacy initiatives across the organization
• Collaborate with data engineers and architects on data modeling and technical design

Requirements

• 4-6 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role within data/analytics domains
• Strong understanding of financial processes such as FP&A, P2P, GL, and Revenue
• Proven track record of delivering data products within an Agile/Scrum environment
• Experience with modern BI and analytics platforms, preferably Power BI
• Familiarity with ERP platforms and understanding of how finance data flows between ERP systems and analytics layers
• Understanding of data engineering principles, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT processes
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into technical requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Workday Financials (HCM, FIN, or PSA modules)
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar agile certification
• SQL proficiency and hands-on experience querying financial datasets
• Knowledge of dimensional modeling, semantic layer concepts, and data governance frameworks
• Understanding of SOX-relevant data workflows and financial controls
